Volunteering

Volunteering

Looking for ways to get even more involved in our activities?

Otanko and our events don’t run by themselves, so active association members are always welcome! Volunteering is a very flexible role where you can be as committed or casual as you want, and do the kind of things you’re interested in. If you have experience or know-how in  something like graphic design, photography, website building, event organising, etc. we can figure out something where you can help us out. But don’t worry, you can become a volunteer even without any prior experience: we have plenty of easy volunteer tasks, such as washing towels or re-stocking protein bars.

Volunteering comes with its own perks as well! In exchange for using your expertise to help with our activities, you will get access to our volunteer open classes and you can use our poles to train whenever you book the association room.

To become a volunteer, contact Tytti. We will teach you how to set up and take down the poles, show you everything else you need to know, and negotiate the perfect tasks for you.

Board

If you want even more responsibility, you can apply to be on the board of Otanko! The new board is elected every December in our association meeting for the next calendar year. Each board member has their own responsibilities, ranging from more administrative tasks to coordinating our classes or even organising events. The board takes care of everything happening behind the scenes, so it’s the perfect place for someone eager to make Otanko even better. No previous experience is needed, but if you have a specific skill set or vision, even better!
